Our kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is open to children ages 4 and up and welcomes families in Brentwood, as well as Franklin, Nashville, and surrounding communities. Classes are designed to build strong foundational grappling skills while supporting confidence, discipline, coordination, and a healthy growth mindset.
Training takes place in a fun, structured, and positive environment that challenges kids appropriately and encourages a love of learning. Competition is a valued part of our program, and students who show interest are thoughtfully prepared and supported through the process.
The kids program is led by Coach Bryce, an avid competitor and dedicated coach who oversees all youth instruction and is deeply invested in developing confident, capable young athletes.
Classes are divided by age:

This structure allows instruction to be tailored to each child’s developmental level, helping every student progress safely and confidently.
Our adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is built on a foundation of long-term success, with the academy operating continuously since 2009. Training is structured to support safe, sustainable progress while still allowing students to train hard and improve consistently.
Classes accommodate all experience levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners, with athletes in our adult program ranging in age from 14 to 70. Our training room includes a strong and active women’s presence, reflecting the depth and balance of the program.
Students come in with a wide range of goals, and our training structure supports each of them. Alongside a strong competition team with dedicated competition classes throughout the week, our regular training environment is built for students who value consistency, technical improvement, and longevity on the mats. A strong sense of community connects competitors and long-term members alike.

Fayyaz akbari
Fayyaz Akbari is the Owner and Head Instructor of Profectus Jiu-Jitsu, located in Brentwood, Tennessee near the Franklin city line. He has led the Brentwood academy since 2020.
A highly respected competitor, particularly in no-gi, Fayyaz is best known for his intelligent coaching. He has coached both men and women to wins and podium finishes at the IBJJF European Championships, Pan American Championships, and World Championships.
Fayyaz co-owns Profectus Jiu-Jitsu with his wife, Dani Olafson, a highly ranked adult competitor and current brown belt who leads the academy’s women’s program.
